David Haskins is a performer and educator currently based in Reno, NV. Originally from Wilmington, NC, Mr. Haskins has performed in orchestras in several states across the country and internationally, including in Spain and Austria. Mr. Haskins is experienced with special events, including weddings, parties, ceremonies, and memorials. He loves chamber music, folk music, and contemporary music in addition to classical music, and is always looking for an excuse to make music with others.
When he isn’t playing in an ensemble, Mr. Haskins is most likely teaching violin in his private studio. He has offered private lessons for over 10 years and has taught all ages and ability levels. He believes in an individualized approach that highlights the strengths of each student, young or old. He is also a pianist and enjoys a collaborative approach, often accompanying his own students.
When Mr. Haskins isn’t making music, he is most likely spending time in the outdoors; hiking, skiing, or kayaking. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs, Rocky and Tambourine.
